u can hold them with out gloves. I have 2 box turtles and i hold them all the time. but i dont c why you couldnt wear gloves. Can u hold baby turtles with latex gloves without harming them?
The latex probably wouldn't harm them, but excessive holding will stress them out and that isn't healthy. Can u hold baby turtles with latex gloves without harming them?
It depends on what species your baby turtles are. Either way, you shouldnt handle baby turtles very much within the first few weeks. Painted turtles and box turtles are born with the same toughness as their parents so its ok to hold them with or without gloves. Softer turtles like leatherbacks shouldnt be handled as much. Any water turtles should be handled little if at all.
The only damage might be to you, if you are allergic to latex. Don't handle baby turtles too much, though. If you want something to play with, get a Beanie Baby.
Yes you can. Hold them in such a way that your thumb is placed on its shell, and the rest of your 4 fingers are placed underneath it. Hold it firmly but not tightly, do not sqeeze it as they are pretty fragile as hatchling. Make sure that you wash the gloves before using it as the rubber contains substances which might be harmful to these little ones. Try not to catch them up too often if not necessary. All the best!
