What type of paint should i use paint my metal front door? Latex? Oil based? etc.?

I have always used the Rust-O-Leum brand of paint for metal. I have found it in both latex and oil based. It sticks a whole lot better to a metal surface. What type of paint should i use paint my metal front door? Latex? Oil based? etc.?
personally i only use an oil based paint. most paint stores will tell you that an acrylic paint is ok on them but i find an acrylic paint does not stick to metal doors very well. they come with a baked on primer and it is very hard and smooth. a metal paint like tremclad or rustolium work well but you don't have a very big selection of colours. now a days oil based paints have too many japan driers in them and they set up too quickly so if you can find a product called penetrol it works great to keep a wet edge and it helps the paint to flow better. if you can remove the door and set it on some saw horses that works great and if you have access to a spray gun even better. it gives you a nice even finish and depending on the colour that you pick may save you from having to put multiple coats on.
