Is it safe to use latex paint in a well ventilated room with a 14mo in the area??

normally i would have her go stay with her grandparents while i paint, but her grandparents are not available and i'd like to finish painting this room before the new baby is born. i can wait of course my daughters safety comes first, i was just wondering, if it is harmful or not..Is it safe to use latex paint in a well ventilated room with a 14mo in the area??
As long as you can leave the windows open and the door closed after you are done. (so that it can dry without stinking up the entire house) you should be fine.

I had the same problem just recently. I painted while my son watched in the crib and the we left the room shut with the window open to dry it.

By the time we re-opened the door that evening most of the smell had dissipated.
