Does a latex condom harm an embryo?

My wife wants to get pregnant. I am using avodart which can harm an embryo. I know a latex condom can harm sperm, but can it harm the embryo? If not then a latex condom could be used during her pregnancy.Does a latex condom harm an embryo?
If you are trying to get pregnant, you need to stop using the medication. I suppose once you do get pregnant, you could use condoms; but I seriously doubt you can cause any problems once the egg has been fertilized. Once in there, it's not going anywhere, so to speak, and has the amniotic sac surrounding it to protect the baby.

Avodart can probably cause low sperm count or even sperm problems, although I don't know specifically - ask your urologist. The key thing with prostate meds is that she NOT handle them once she's pregnant - this could cause birth defects. I used to work in a pharmacy and we were cautioned against this, although most of these meds were packaged individually so the possibility of anyone handling them other than the patient was lower. You need to talk to your doc and her doc and consider coming off the medication while you are trying to become pregnant and possibly even for the duration of the pregnancy. Stuff is very harmful to fetus.
Why are you going to use a condom when she is pregnant??? LOL

Anyway, latex condoms are safe during pregnancy.
why are you using a condom if shes already pregnant%26gt;!

You are using a condom so as to not give her any of the avodart that may be in your system right?

A latex condom to my knowledge doesnt hurt a baby. Its no where near the baby. Unless you are tapping it on the forehead, then its ok. (You arent going to tap its head by the way)

If you are concerned, when in doubt ask a physician. That is what they get the big bucks for.
Very safe to use. Good Luck
No it cannot cause harm to an embryo, it will not even come in contact with the embryo as a woman's body, once conception happens, closes up the uterus so that nothing can cause infection until shortly before birth. Your baby would be perfectly safe, the avodart on the other hand, can cause harm because of specific birth defects, usually through a woman touching the drug, not through sexual contact, but ask her OB/GYN to be sure.
the embryo is in no harm a latex condom.
If it's your wife you're having sex with, and you're either trying to get pregnant or she already is... and neither of you has any diseases or other sexual partners, then why bother with a condom?
Avodart can be absorbed through the skin. Because the drug could affect a developing baby, pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, and breastfeeding women should strictly avoid skin contact with the drug.

Using a condom should be fine.
