Scotch tape is the usual so it will adhere best. Please take any tape off as soon as you can or it will stay on, especially where the sun is on it.What is the best painters tape to use with exterior latex paint ? ?
The 3M company makes good masking tape, but your local paint store will have its own brand as well. If your painting outside, I'd shoot for one thats relatively inexpensive.
You can also eliminate taping completely by ';cutting'; your lines with a brush. That will look better and save time and money.
